OpenSea Guide

Learn how to showcase your OpenSea NFTs on Exhibito

What is OpenSea?

OpenSea is the world's largest NFT marketplace, where you can buy, sell, and discover NFTs from thousands of collections on Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, and other blockchains.

Exhibito can sync your OpenSea NFTs directly from your Ethereum wallet address. You don't need to connect your wallet—just provide your public address.

Finding Your Ethereum Wallet Address

You can find your wallet address from OpenSea or your wallet app:

Method 1: From OpenSea

  1. Visit opensea.io and log in
  2. Click on your profile icon (top right)
  3. Your wallet address will be displayed (starts with 0x)
  4. Click on it to copy, or view it in your profile settings

Method 2: From MetaMask

  1. Open the MetaMask extension or mobile app
  2. Click on your account name at the top
  3. Your wallet address will be displayed
  4. Click to copy it

Method 3: From Other Wallets

Most Ethereum wallets display your address in similar ways:

  • Coinbase Wallet: Tap your profile → Your address is shown at the top
  • Trust Wallet: Tap "Receive" → Select Ethereum → Copy address
  • Rainbow: Tap your profile → Copy address
  • Ledger/Trezor: Connect to your wallet app → View address

Important: Your wallet address should be 42 characters long and start with 0x. Example: 0x1234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef12345678

Adding Your OpenSea NFTs to Exhibito

Step 1: Create or Edit a Gallery

If you haven't already, create a gallery or edit an existing one.

Step 2: Add NFT Source

On your gallery edit page, click "Add Source" and:

  1. Select "Ethereum Wallet" as the platform
  2. Paste your Ethereum wallet address (starts with 0x)
  3. Select the blockchain network:
    • Ethereum: For mainnet NFTs
    • Polygon: For Polygon NFTs
    • Arbitrum: For Arbitrum NFTs
    • Base: For Base NFTs
    • Optimism: For Optimism NFTs
  4. Click "Add Source"

Step 3: Sync Your NFTs

After adding the source, click "Sync Now" to fetch your NFTs. The sync process will:

  • Connect to the OpenSea API
  • Fetch all NFTs in your wallet
  • Display them in your gallery with metadata and images

You can watch the progress in real-time on the sync logs page.

OpenSea API Key (Optional but Recommended)

While not required, using an OpenSea API key provides:

  • Higher rate limits (faster syncing)
  • More reliable API access
  • Better metadata quality

How to Get an OpenSea API Key

  1. Visit OpenSea API Docs
  2. Sign up for an API key (free tier available)
  3. Copy your API key
  4. Contact Exhibito support to add it to your account (coming soon: self-service API key management)

Troubleshooting

My NFTs aren't showing up

• Verify your wallet address is correct (42 characters, starts with 0x)
• Make sure you selected the correct blockchain network
• Check the sync logs for any error messages
• Ensure your NFTs are actually in that wallet address
• Try syncing again—sometimes API rate limits cause temporary issues

The sync is slow or failing

• Large collections (100+ NFTs) can take 1-3 minutes
• Without an API key, rate limits may cause delays
• Check the sync logs page for real-time progress
• If it fails, wait a few minutes and try again

Some NFTs are missing images

• Some NFTs may not have metadata or images on-chain
• IPFS-hosted images may take time to load
• Check OpenSea directly to see if the NFT has an image there
